Link Learning Outcomes to Assignments or Discussions

After creating learning outcomes, you may link them to Dropbox Folders or Discussion Topics in your course through Rubrics. Follow these steps to align them with assignments and discussions:

1. From the BigSky homepage, click on the course where you want to link the learning outcome.
2. On the navigation bar, click Assessment > Rubrics.
3. For a new rubric, click New Rubric. For an existing rubric, find the rubric in the list, click the down arrow and select Edit.
4. Align your outcomes to a criterion. For each criterion in your rubric, align learning outcomes.
5. Click Browse Learning Outcomes.
6. In the dialog box, tick the boxes next to your desired learning outcomes.
7. Click Save to link the selected learning outcomes to the criterion.
8. Click Close.

When setting this up, make sure it aligns with your course syllabus. The syllabus outlines your learning outcomes and their corresponding activities, which should serve as your main reference when linking outcomes in BigSky.

You may now use the edited rubric with learning outcomes in the designated Dropbox folder or discussion topic.
