Now that you’ve set up your digital assistant, test it to ensure that it runs as expected before activating it for actual use. To test your agent:
- From the BigSky homepage, click on the course where you created the intelligent agent.
- On the navigation bar, click Communication > Intelligent Agents.
- From the Agent List page, find the agent you want to test and click the down arrow beside its name.
- Select Practice Run.
- Click Run then Done.
This simulates the agent’s conditions and shows which students meet the criteria, without sending any actual emails. Practice runs are safe to perform anytime, even if the agent is not enabled.
View test results
To review how your message or email appears, you can safely test it in 2 ways:
- Edit the agent. Under Actions > Send an Email, temporarily add your BMail in the To (or Bcc) field so you receive the message.
- Return to the Agent List page, and select Run Now.
- Duplicate the agent, then update the copy’s email settings and repeat the steps above.
After confirming it works as expected, don’t forget to revert your temporary changes beforeactivating the agent.
