How did Benilde adapt to the current pandemic?
All our classes are currently online. Even before the pandemic, we already have resources and services in place to complement face-to-face classes with online learning experiences. These services allowed us to switch to fully online delivery of classes seamlessly. These are BigSky Benilde, Br. Fidelis Leddy Learning Resource Center (LRC), Center for Inclusive Education (CIE), and Intellectual Property Management Center (IPMC).
BigSky is our official online learning platform. It is a learning environment accessible on any device. BigSky makes it possible for teachers and learners to engage in learning activities, communicate and collaborate, and submit assignments online. Instructors were trained to teach using BigSky Benilde and to redesign their syllabi, and create online courseware with flexible instructional content and activities that make online learning engaging, relevant, and meaningful to our students.
Br. Fidelis Leddy Learning Resource Center
LRC is a multimedia library that supports the unique educational philosophy of the College. Its resources vary widely in format from conventional printed materials, such as books and periodicals, to other forms of stored media, like optical discs and electronic/digital materials, and online databases.
Center for Inclusive Education
CIE provides academic support and training to students with declared specific learning needs. The center also promotes and advocates inclusion among the Benildean Community through training, workshops, and events. We also ensure that the center is up to date through research.
Intellectual Property Management Center
IPMC is an IPOPHL-accredited Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) that spearheads the intellectual property culture in Benilde. IPMC offers level-up seminars and training, patent search services with access to Derwent World Patents Index, IP protection support services for the Benildeans, especially students, to ensure that their works are secure from IP infringement.
