Your teacher may require you to participate in discussions by responding to specific topics. Here’s how you can contribute with your thoughts or answers:
- From the BigSky homepage, go to the course where you need to engage in discussions.
- On the Navigation Bar, click Communication > Discussions.
- You’ll see topics with durations or those open for the entire term. Topics may be locked or unlocked at specific times, and their visibility in the calendar depends on your teacher’s settings.
- Contribute to a topic by clicking Start a New Thread.
- In the text box, add a subject and type your contribution. You can also attach files and post under other topics.
- Click Post when you’re finished. Your name will appear on your post, but some topics allow anonymous posting.
- Your post may appear immediately on the topic page or await approval from your teacher.
There are two types of topics, determined by your teacher: Open topics are discussions in which the whole class can participate. Group topics are restricted to specific group members.
