Creating a grading sheet in BigSky Benilde involves configuring categories and items, and managing grades to develop a comprehensive grading system tailored to your course.
- From the BigSky homepage, click on the course where you want to set up the grading sheet.
- On the Navigation Bar, select Assessment > Grades.
- Under the Manage Grades tab, click on Item.
- Choose a Grade Item Type:
- Numeric: Assign a value out of a total number of points.
- Selectbox: Use a predefined grade scheme level.
- Pass/Fail: Use a pass/fail grading scheme.
- Formula: Automatically grade based on a custom formula.
- Calculated: Aggregate achievement across multiple items.
- Text: Provide non-calculated comments.
After selecting the type, you'll be directed to the Category page.
- Under the Properties tab, enter the category name (e.g., Homework, Exams).
- Set the weight or percentage for this category.
- Under the Restrictions tab, choose visibility settings for students.
- Click Save and Close to complete the setup.
