The Rubric Creation tool in BigSky simplifies grading submissions and provides students with a clear understanding of how their assignments were evaluated. By aligning criteria with your learning goals and teaching standards, you can ensure consistency in your assessments.
- From the BigSky homepage, navigate to the course where you want to create a rubric.
- In the Navigation Bar, select Assessment > Rubrics.
- Click on New Rubric to open the Edit Rubric page.
- Give your rubric a title, define the criteria, and add levels of achievement. Assign weights and points as needed.
- Click Close to save your rubric automatically. You can now associate the rubric with assignments.
Associate the Rubric with Assignments
- From the BigSky homepage, navigate to the course where your assignments are listed.
- In the Navigation Bar, select Content.
- In the course content area, click on the assignment you want to associate with the rubric.
- Open the assignment settings and find the Assessment or Rubric section.
- Select Add Rubric and choose the rubric you created from the list.
- Click Save.
