The Content Page is where you upload the syllabus and course files, and set course expectations. This feature also helps you establish learning objectives and track class progress by monitoring accessed and completed materials. It acts as a central hub for organizing and providing course resources.
There’s no limit to the number of supplementary resources you can offer, but ensure students have enough time to complete them during the course.
Every course has a dedicated Content Page. To access it, click on a course from the BigSky homepage, then select Content from the Navigation Bar. You’ll find the following sections in the side panel:
- Overview - this is where you can post a welcome message for your students and upload the syllabus. To upload this, click Add Attachment and locate your file.
- Bookmarks - all the contents and activities you previously bookmarked. You may bookmark content that you want to access frequently and find useful as a reference.
- Course Schedule - view reminders and due dates.
- Table of Contents - navigate through course modules.
Minimum BigSky Usage Requirements:
- Upload the course syllabus on the Overview.
- Use bookmarks to highlight important course content.
-
Under the Table of Contents, start the course with Module 0 containing the following information:
- Self-introduction through a video, presentation, or text format.
- House rules that shall be followed by you and your students. This includes code of ethics, standards, data privacy, and intellectual property regulations.
- The Table of Contents should list modules with learning resources and prepared activities like dropboxes, discussions, and quizzes. Links to Dropboxes should be posted where applicable.
- Release conditions should be indicated in every instruction per module and activity, if and when applied to guide your students to completion.
