In addition to posting announcements, you can communicate directly with individuals, select students, or the entire class by sending emails. This feature allows you to provide personalized feedback, answer questions, or send reminders.
- From the BigSky homepage, click on the course with the students you want to email.
- In the Navigation Bar, click on User > Classlist. You can filter the list by options such as All, Students, Instructor, Coordinator, Guest Student, Mentor, and Observer.
- Find the names of the students or type them into the search box.
- Select the checkboxes next to the names of those you wish to contact, and click the Email button.

A new window will open for composing your message:
- Fill in the Subject and Body of the email.
- Set the Priority of the message.
- Attach any files if necessary.
- Click Send.
If you know the student’s name or email address, you can also contact them by clicking Message Alerts in the Minibar and selecting Email, or by navigating to Communications > Email in the Navigation Bar.
Students will receive notifications through the Brightspace Pulse App, ensuring they are promptly and conveniently alerted to new emails.
