A biometric device is placed inside classrooms to record your attendance during your scheduled class days. You can see this near the faculty table or the classroom door. If you’re a part-time faculty, the amount you’ll receive during pay schedules depends on your attendance record. Follow this guide to learn how to use it.
Currently, only classrooms, specialized rooms, and laboratories on the Design + Arts Campus have biometric devices installed. On other campuses, an attendance checker assigned to the faculty service associates goes around the campus to check faculty attendance.
Time in
- Ensure that you are not/no one is in front of the camera to avoid activating the device automatically.
- Press ESC.
- Click the Up ▲ button to time in before the start of your class.
- Stand in front of the camera to record your attendance. You should see a square framing your face in the display.
- The device will prompt Successfully verified if you recorded this successfully. If you have already logged a time-in record for the same day, it will show Duplicated punch.
Time out
- Ensure that you are not/no one is in front of the camera to avoid activating the device automatically.
- Press ESC.
- Click the Down ▼ button to time out at the end of your class.
- Stand in front of the camera to record your attendance. You should see a square framing your face in the display.
- The device will prompt Successfully verified if you recorded this successfully. If you have already logged a time-out record for the same day, it will show Duplicated punch.
If you don’t see a square frame when trying to log in to your attendance, or if you’re having problems with the device, report this immediately through this Google form.
Important Reminders
- Turning off or unplugging the biometric device is strictly prohibited.
- Log your attendance at the start and end of each class. Consultation hours which is outside the official class schedule do not need to be logged and recorded through the device.
- If you have 2 succeeding classes in the same room, you’ll need to log your attendance separately for each class.
- If you are having online synchronous classes based on the syllabus, you do not need to go to the classroom to record your attendance.
- Your attendance record onsite will be based on the on-campus days indicated in the course syllabus. The only time your attendance on campus will not be checked are days when the school declares an online synchronous setup for all classes.
- If you forgot to log your attendance through the biometric device, email ro.facultyservices@benilde.edu.ph with your proof of attendance immediately. Failure to do this may lead to an attendance deficiency record and a salary deduction.
- If you’re handling a special class, academic advising, or thesis advising, you do not need to log your attendance through the biometric device for these sessions.
If the classroom is locked or inaccessible before the class starts, email ro.facultyservices@benilde.edu.ph with a photo as evidence right away.
