Benilde recognizes that individuals, regardless of gender, must be treated equally and should be able to feel safe and secure in all spaces, whether at home, in school, office, or online.
In compliance with RA No. 11313 Safe Spaces Act, also known as “Bawal Bastos Law”, the following acts are considered major offenses:
- Catcalling, wolf-whistling, unwanted invitation, and or misogynistic, transphobic, homophobic, and or sexist slurs
- Persistent uninvited comments or gestures on a person’s appearance
- Relentless requests for personal details
- Statements of sexual comments and suggestions
- Any advance, whether verbal or physical, that is unwanted and has threatened one’s sense of personal space and physical safety; this may include cursing, leering, intrusive gazing, and taunting
- Persistent telling of sexual jokes or use of sexual names
- Public masturbation or flashing of private parts, groping, making offensive body gestures at someone, and other similar lewd sexual actions
- Stalking
If you or someone you know experienced gender-based sexual harassment, immediately report it to the Center for Restorative Discipline through the Filing of Complaint/Reporting an Incident form for reporting students or to PODO at podohelpdesk@benilde.edu.ph for reporting associates/employees. Let's work together to make Benilde a safe space for everyone.
