Benilde is against violence and anything that can cause harm and injury to individuals. In compliance with RA Act No. 11053 - Anti-hazing Act of 2018, Benilde has implemented the following policies to ensure appropriate consequences are given to students caught participating in any fraternity or sorority activity.
The following are considered major offenses and may result in immediate expulsion:
- Being a member of a fraternity or sorority, participating in student recruitment, and encouraging others to join the organization that directly violates their Non-fraternity contract. This includes memberships in organizations not recognized by the College that commit violent acts.
-
Directly or indirectly participating in hazing activities, such as:
- Having full knowledge and directly participating in the planning of the initiation process
- Participating in the initiation rites
- Witnessing the initiation rites and making no attempt to end such activities
- Being involved at any stage in the planning process, even if not physically present during the initiation rites
- Facilitating the activity by providing or securing the venue, transportation, or initiation paraphernalia with full knowledge of their use or purpose
- Having knowledge of the initiation rites and attempting to suppress or cover up any information relevant to the case
- Initiating or participating in fraternity or sorority brawls in the form of physical or verbal altercations on or off campus
Being expelled means that the student will not be allowed to be admitted to any public or private school in the Philippines. Students who were on LOA/AWOL when they participated in the activity will not be admitted/re-admitted to the College. All individuals, including alumni involved in frat/sorority-related violence that resulted in injury/death will not be allowed to enter Benilde.
